Northstar Capital Welcomes Summer 2024 Interns
Northstar Capital (“Northstar”), a provider of junior capital for lower middle market private equity transactions, is pleased to welcome three summer interns – Mayande Mamba, Ben Frost, and Keegan Masser.
Northstar’s summer internship program offers students the unique opportunity to work closely alongside Northstar’s investment professionals. Learn more about each of our summer 2024 interns below:
Mayande Mamba
Mayande is an upcoming Junior at Macalester College and is majoring in Economics and Mathematics. She previously interned at the Institute for State Effectiveness and Clean Energy Economy Minnesota. On campus, Mayande is involved with the Macalester Investment Club, Career Exploration Fellow, and Women in Economics. She also spent several months volunteering with the Red Cross in Norway helping refugee children. Mayande plans to pursue a career in investment banking post-graduation.
Ben Frost
Ben is a rising Junior at Texas Christian University and is studying Finance & Accounting. He previously interned at Hennepin Partners in the summer of 2023. On campus, Ben is actively involved in the Transaction and Investment Professional Board Program, Sigma Nu Fraternity, and the Pickleball Club. An avid golfer, Ben spent his summer in 2020 as a caddie at a local country club, helping others improve their game. After college he plans to further his career in the world of investment banking.
Keegan Masser
Keegan is an upcoming Senior at the University of Minnesota where he is studying Finance & Accounting. He previously interned at Organic Valley in the summer of 2023 as a Cash Application and Deductions Accountant. Keegan participates on campus through Scholars of Finance, Gopher Catholic, Gophers Respect Life, and a variety of Intramural sports. He founded YardLogo, LLC in 2021, and is still actively involved in the business. Keegan plans to continue to pursue a career in private equity after graduation.
Northstar Internship Program
Northstar’s internship program was established in 2017 and has been a successful development program for over a dozen aspiring finance professionals. Previous Northstar interns have gone on to work in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, and corporate development. Representative firms include Lincoln International, Piper Sandler, Bain Consulting, Blackstone, PwC, and Cowen. Northstar is proud of the continued success of previous interns and looks forward to continuing the growth of the internship alumni network. Furthermore, Northstar has been able to participate in the Small Business Investing Scholars internship program intended to promote diversity and inclusion in the SBIC industry.
